How we support you on your journey

1

Get an unbiased overview of options

With the help of your physician, search for available trials and provide relevant medical information that will help determine what options may be available to you. We do so by gathering your data securely on our GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001-certified platform.

2

Get help with access

Alongside your physician, review your options and decide what is right for you and your unique situation. If you choose to pursue an available clinical trial, we can help you take steps to get referred. If that is not possible, we can potentially help you and your physician with expanded access requests.

3

Meet your patient navigator

Whenever possible, a patient navigator is assigned to you, and helps you with guiding you through your next steps. They act as a single point of contact for patients and their families to discover and potentially access clinical trials and expanded access programs.

1. How does myTomorrows help patients?

2. What is the cost of myTomorrows’ services for patients?

Our services of providing information about clinical trials and expanded access programs and supporting physicians with the expanded access application process worldwide are always free of charge for patients and healthcare professionals.

3. Does myTomorrows provide medical advice to patients?

No, myTomorrows cannot provide any medical advice or medical services to patients. We kindly recommend that you discuss with your treating physician regarding any concerns or medical guidance in considering and selecting a clinical trial or expanded access program option. Treating physicians remain in charge of their patient’s treatment plan and providing any answers on specific medical questions. Our team can only support in providing information about clinical trials and expanded access programs that may be available to patients.

4. What is a clinical trial?

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate drugs in development. When a new treatment/drug is being researched and developed, it must be tested extensively to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the treatment on patients’ health. Clinical trials are an essential part of developing new drugs to treat patients. Watch our video to learn more

5. When can I participate in an expanded access program (compassionate use)?

An expanded access program is carried out at discretion of physicians for patients with an unmet medical need. It usually has broader inclusion criteria. The eligibility criteria of expanded access programs usually allow for a broader group of patients. This means that a patient who is not eligible for a clinical trial might be able to access an investigational drug via an expanded access program.

Some patients who are not eligible to participate in a clinical trial may be able to access investigational drugs outside of a clinical trial through an expanded access program.

In general, patients should meet the following criteria for an expanded access program:

  • Have a serious and life-threatening condition
  • Are not eligible for any current clinical trial of the drug
  • Have no other comparable treatment options
  • Are likely to have benefits that outweigh the risks involved

In addition, each expanded access program will have its own specific criteria for patients. For most patients, the only way to access investigational therapies is to participate in a clinical trial. For a patient to enter an expanded access program, the pharmaceutical company must be willing to provide the drug through an expanded access program. myTomorrows can help with requesting this from the pharmaceutical company.

Their treating physician should discuss this with their patient and decide whether requesting the investigational drug is in their patients best interest. Physicians then prescribe the drug and oversee their treatment.

6. How is my eligibility to a clinical trial determined?

Each clinical trial has specific criteria to determine who can participate. These are called clinical trial eligibility criteria; they help ensure that patients who are participating in a trial are alike.

For example, they may need to have the same type and stage of disease. This helps ensure the trial’s outcomes are the result of the investigational new drug being evaluated. Clinical trial eligibility criteria are also important for the safety of the patient.

myTomorrows does not determine the eligibility of patients but helps with pre-screening them before referring them to a clinical trial. This is only done on broad criteria that are either publicly available or agreed upon with the site (age, location or gender, for instance).

7. What is the role of Patient Navigators at myTomorrows?

Our Patient Navigators are an essential point of contact for patients to understand and find clinical trials and if available, expanded access programs.

They are a familiar contact for patients throughout their journey of choice; while they cannot give medical advice, Patient Navigators are trained to explain complex medical concepts to patients. We offer dependable, multilingual support to patients covering U.S. and European time zones.

More information is available in our privacy and cookie statements.

Do you have a question around data privacy, data processing, or data protection? Please reach out to dataprotection@mytomorrows.com

9. Do patients have to pay for clinical trials?

Patients usually do not have to pay for the majority of clinical trial costs. Drug manufacturers typically make the treatment in a clinical trial available free of charge. However, there may be other costs associated with participating in a clinical trial, such as additional medical appointments or travel expenses. Review any possible costs with the clinical trial staff and with your insurance provider before enrolling in a clinical trial.
